TR4DER Chat:
Welcome to the TR4DER chat. Here you can talk to other traders about all kings of things related to the stock markets and trading and investments in general, macro economy, stocks, futures, Forex, news, etc, and this way making an exchange of ideas with other users, as well as getting answers for your questions with other traders. It won't be so useful as a forum is, but it is an excellent tool for quick chats between lots of users, but it is recommended that the users of this portal use the forum to discuss ideas with more efficiency.
TR4der Chat Instructions:
A third party software was selected to allow our users to connect to a chat system through the IRC (Internet Relay Chat) protocol, allowing our users to access it automatically just by opening this page, in this case to a server called PTnet, and so, without the need to install any IRC client separately (as mIRC for example), and to chat in real time with other forum users who might be online at each moment.
It was decided to be used a chat system through the IRC protocol, and not a Web Chat, not only because the IRC one is faster and having more functionalities, but also for allowing the users to have access to the trading chat of this portal through IRC clients directly, without the need to open our website.
This chat script has been made in Java, so if you receive an error saying that you don't have the Java installed, you can install it through the Sun's website, and after installing the Java Virtual Machine and refreshing this page, you'll have access to the chat.
For security reasons, your browser can ask you if you wish to execute the software, and if you want to get rid of that warning on this page, it is recommended that you mark the option "more options" and choose «always execute the "Philippe Detournay" software», so that this error doesn't appear anymore in the future.
You can execute the commands that exist on the regular IRC servers, which are shown below, and you could be limited to a certain number of sessions for each unique IP address which is connected to the server. If you are in a computer behind a router or gateway, you may not be able to connect to the chat server if you have the 6667 port closed.
After entering in the chat, you will automatically have a nick related to the TR4DER portal (for example: TR4DER_user333), and you can change your nick later and choose another nick that you might want to use as your own if available, and if the chosen nick is not being used but is already registered by someone, you'll be asked for that nick's password, and in that case it is recommended that you identify yourself with your password only on the "status" window that the software presents you, because this way if you commit an error and put your password by mistake on screen, it will not be seen by anyone, and if you would do that in a channel, everybody would see your password, so it is recommended to identify the nicks you already have registered only on the status window, as a measure of precaution.
